A data sharing initiative (data space) is the sum of all its participants utilising a common infrastructure for trustworthy data sharing, based on commonly agreed principles.

This page provides an overview of Dutch data sharing initiatives, as gathered by the CoE-DSC and presented in a trial Landscape Scan report which was released in July 2024 (and revised in October 2024). Please note, that the current Landscape Scan was made as a trial version to be improved based on the community input, therefore the overview below is foreseen to change.

Aedes Data Standards provides housing corporations with support for the implementation and the use of standards for data sharing.

Het Keten Control Center (KCC) verzamelt data over de capaciteit van het zorglandschap in de regio Breda. Met analyses en inzichten over vraag, aanbod en bezetting van zorg ondersteunt het KCC de coördinatie van zorg in de regio (juiste zorg op de juiste plaat op de juiste tijd).

The exchange of medical data is surrounded by numerous technical and organizational measures and agreements. These are documented in the AORTA framework agreement. AORTA describes all the agreements and rules that apply to the infrastructure of the National Switch Point (LSP) and its use.

The DIL program explores and develops the agreements necessary to make smarter use of the existing digital infrastructure in logistic chains. The Basic Data Infrastructure (BDI) is a framework for controlled data sharing, supporting automated advanced information logistics within next-generation OSCM networks.

DataFryslân is a cooperative knowledge and innovation hub for the secure collection, processing, sharing, and utilization of Frisian data by and for Frisian public and private organizations.

Stichting Datakluis is committed to creating a personal data vault for every Dutch citizen, in which their online data is stored.

A portal where a citizen, company, organization, municipality or water board may reuse the public information of the province of North Brabant. With this open data you can create your own applications, such as websites, applications and interactive maps.

De Nederlandse Vereniging van Podotherapeuten (NVvP) lanceerde eind juni – samen de podotherapiepraktijken Voetencentrum Wender, Hermanns, Innofeet, Lectoraat Podotherapie (Hogeschool Saxion/Fontys) en privacytechnologie-specialist Roseman Labs de ‘Datawerkplaats’.

A collaboration with all municipalities in Groningen and Drenthe, the public transport agency and the Province of Groningen and Drenthe. The aim is to achieve an affordable and future-proof transport network that is accessible to elderly and disabled people (social inclusion). Winner of Privacy Awards.

DITM enables Netherlands to organize mobility more efficiently and safely at a national level, create a stronger export position internationally for Dutch technology, and influence international standards.

The DMI ecosystem is a public-private partnership that facilitates the responsible sharing and use of data on a solid foundation of mutual trust, clear agreements and open standards. DigiGO is a collaboration platform that promotes digitalization in the Dutch design, construction, and engineering sector, aimed at efficiently addressing societal challenges and fostering industry-wide innovation.

The Datastelsel verduurzaming Utiliteit (DVU) is a system that collects data on utility buildings, such as energy usage. Building owners can securely share this data for analysis and receive smart savings advice.

EDSN facilitates the transitioning liberalized energy market with knowledge and expertise. We achieve this by ensuring robust, transparent market processes and securely making all relevant energy data available.

Within the Edu-V program, schools and suppliers make mutual agreements – a framework of agreements – that regulate access to and use of digital educational resources for primary, secondary, special, and vocational education

The ELSA Lab develops socially responsible, data-driven solutions for tackling poverty, with public and stakeholder participation being integrated effectively into the design and approach. The targets for this ELSA Lab are anyone living in poverty or at risk of falling into poverty, anyone with debts that are problematic or at risk of becoming so.

EnergySHR, developed for TU Delft and Erasmus University Rotterdam, facilitates data and algorithm sharing to enhance cooperation among academia, public, and private sectors, accelerating energy transition research and innovation.

Rotterdam ensures preschool access for toddlers with developmental delays. The CJG identifies eligible children, and childcare organizations get subsidies to run programs. The municipality uses data to monitor and improve program reach across the city.

Geonovum is a government foundation with extensive knowledge and a rich network. Our daily work is aimed at enhancing government performance using geospatial information. We do this by improving the accessibility of geospatial information and by facilitating the exchange of geospatial information among each other and with other types of data through standards.

GERDA is the project name for establishing an Integrated Regional Data Infrastructure related to healthcare data in Achterhoek.

HDN facilitates the application, acceptance, and management process for mortgage and mortgage-related products. HDN does this, among other things, by developing and managing the standard for secure digital communication in the financial chain.

Health-RI is a Dutch initiative aimed at facilitating and promoting an integrated (data) infrastructure for health data, accessible to researchers, citizens, healthcare providers, and businesses.

HERACLES should make it possible for research organisations, epidemiologists, doctors, tech companies, patient associations, pharmaceutical industry representatives and health insurers to conduct collaborative research on lung and ovarian cancer.

IKNL activities are aimed at reducing the impact of cancer. Generating and sharing reliable and independent insights about cancer is the core of our work.

The aim of the Maritime Masterplan is to develop, build, and utilize reliable, competitive, and modular climate-neutral ships within a cyclical Dutch maritime innovation chain. Joint Data is a Consent register and data exchange platform for all agricultural sectors.
It consists of two things: 1) consent registry, 2) API data exchange layer

Justice Link is building the infrastructure to share and analyse crime data.

Koppeltaal is an architectural software construct that simplifies communication via messages between different components (such as eHealth platforms, portals, interventions, and EHRs) and the launching of interventions.

MCPV is advancing its multi-gigawatt cell and module manufacturing scale-up implementation, to meet the fast growing demand of the European solar PV markets by stimulating data sharing across the value chain.

The MedMij Foundation has established rules for the safe exchange of medical data. PGOs (Personal Health Environments) and healthcare providers with a MedMij label adhere to these rules. Through MedMij, you can securely place a copy of your medical data into your PGO.

MFFBAS is a trust framework that aims to facilitated energy parties in sharing data and unlocking new energy applications to achieve climate goals.

The Company Passport is a Trust Framework (TF) leveraging the eIDAS organisational wallet to enable safe and seamless trade with other businesses, consumers and interaction with public parties

The National Access Point for Mobility Data is the place where governments and market parties can publish, find, and use mobility data. This includes data on roads, public transport, parking, waterways, shared mobility, and other relevant data in the field of mobility.

The province of Zuid-Holland makes as much of its data as possible available as open data. We believe that open data provides social and economic benefits and contributes to transparency.

PLUGIN allows Dutch hospitals to provide and consume data in a federated learning network.

Portbase Port Community System (PCS) is the digital connection to smart Dutch ports. PCS has almost national coverage and is available for all port sectors: containers, general cargo, dry bulk and liquid bulk. Everyone in the logistics chain can exchange information via PCS easily and efficiently.

SBR Nexus develops and manage market standards for exchanging business data between companies, organizations, and financial institutions. In addition, we ensure the availability, proper functioning, and security of the platform My Data, My Business.

SCSN (Smart connected Supplier Network) is a data exchange in the steel manufacturing industry. SCSN simplifies data sharing in the supply chain by enabling messages to be automatically sent between ERP systems of a connected companies.

The goal of Secur-e-Health is to enable different sources of health data (e.g. hospitals, insurance companies, patients) to be combined in a cryptographically safe and secure way, enabling decision support algorithms to be trained on multiple clinical datasets.

The NCSC works together with Dutch government and companies via SecureNed. It is a unique partnership aimed at sharing information about cyber threats and incidents. Based on the shared insights, participants can take measures to prevent or limit damage. SecureNed makes this information sharing simple, effective, but also preventive: what is an incident today for one person is a good warning for another.

SFC uses a decentralized architecture approach to enable sovereign and secure exchange of carbon emission data between different organizations in the logistics industry.

SIVI AFS forms the foundation for a digital ecosystem where customers can receive excellent service across various distribution chains of financial products.

Trusted Information Partners (TIP) is an initiative of private and public parties working towards a future in which citizens, businesses and government can do business digitally in a simple and trusted way. TIP focuses on digitizing transactions whose financial or legal implications are significant.

TMNL consolidates transaction data from various banks and identifies meaningful connections between them. These connections provide new insights into potential money laundering and terrorist financing.

The TO2 Digilab wants to facilitate the collective thinking power of TO2 institutions in order to make a substantial contribution to the challenges we face. To guarantee this in the future, cross-pollination between knowledge institutes is a prerequisite.

TROEF offers a platform that allows you to share energy, provides real-time insight into your CO2 footprint, and rewards you for using energy at the right time.

The project with UMC Utrecht aims to:  Improve the identification of child abuse with a cross-hospital collaboration tool for emergency care, together with Eline van den Heuvel from NSK (Nationaal Signaleringsinstrument Kindermishandeling) – also known as SCAN (Screening instrument for Child Abuse and Neglect).
