How CIRPASS-2 and CoE-DPP aim to realise the adoption of DPPs
While standardisation is a critical foundation for Digital Product Passports, the adoption of the DPP ultimately will determine its impact in practice. Dutch minister of Economic Affairs and Climate visits CoE-DSC booth at Hannover Messe 2025
At the Hannover Messe, on March 31 2025, Peter Verkoulen (directeur CoE-DSC) and Sjoerd Rongen (coordinator – CoE-DPP) pitched the CoE-DSC (and CoE-DPP as part of that) to the Dutch minister of Economic Affairs and Climate, Dirk Beljaarts.
National initiative for Digital Product Passports in the Netherlands
The Dutch ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate, together with a number of other Dutch ministries, has taken the initiative to stimulate the developments of Digital Product Passports (DPPs) in the Netherlands. The ministry has made the financial resources available for this and the activities for the DPP are being accommodated at the Centre of Excellence for Data Sharing & Cloud (CoE-DSC).
