Is your business already working with data spaces?

How can organisations create more value from data, and what is needed to share data
securely and reliably? To give answers to these questions, CoE-DSC and RVO are
organising a series of sector-focused events aimed at introducing data spaces, providing
insight into the European Data Strategy, and highlighting the opportunities they offer for
Dutch businesses.

The next event will focus on the built environment:

Secure Data Sharing: Initiatives in the Built Environment (this event will be held in Dutch)
Wednesday 23 September 2026
13:00 – 17:00
Amersfoort

Information about a future event for the manufacturing sector will be announced soon.

Collaboration
The events are organised in collaboration with sector partners including Smart Connected
Supplier Network (SCSN), Federatie Staalplaat, Klikopmorgen, DMI, the Dutch Ministry of
Infrastructure and Water Management (I&W), and others. Our aim is to make the sessions as
practical as possible by bringing together providers of data-sharing solutions with businesses
and organisations looking to benefit from secure data sharing.

Geert Lamerichs, CoE-DSC/TNO: “The European Commission is working towards a
European market for data. But what does that actually mean for SMEs, and how can it help
your business in practice? Together with RVO, CoE-DSC is making the technology tangible
by listening to real-world challenges and connecting businesses with organisations that can
provide practical solutions.”

From European Policy to Dutch Use Cases
In the webinar below, RVO explains the latest developments in Europe and the Netherlands,
and how businesses can benefit from them. CoE-DSC introduces the key building blocks of a
data space, including the technical, organisational and governance aspects required for
secure and trustworthy data sharing. Supply Drive, a service provider within SCSN, shares
practical examples showing how businesses are already creating value and generating
revenue through data sharing today.

Data Sharing Architects Community 2.0

The latest edition of CoE-DSC’s Data Sharing Architects Community brought together professionals from across the public and private sectors to exchange knowledge, share practical experiences and strengthen interoperability. With expert presentations, interactive workshops and valuable networking opportunities, the event highlighted the growing momentum behind collaborative data-sharing initiatives in the Netherlands.

Federated solutions the only way to digital independence

Strong contributions and a substantive panel discussion characterised the CoE-DSC Strategy Meeting ‘Steering for cloud sovereignty’ on 18 June in The Hague, all grounded in concrete, action-oriented perspectives. Only by connecting public and private parties, and aligning supply and demand, we can achieve federated solutions that give organisations greater control and reduce digital dependence.

Looking Back at a succesfull Gaia-X Tech-X & Hackathon 2026 in Athens

At the Gaia-X Tech-X & Hackathon #9 in Athens, CoE-DSC and TNO played a prominent role in advancing trusted data sharing and interoperability within the European digital ecosystem. A major highlight was the CoE-DSC/TNO team winning the first prize at the hackathon, achieved with an AI-powered solution that enhances trusted collaboration between digital services. The event also showcased important progress in trust and compliance frameworks that support the future development of interoperable European data spaces.
