Renewed energy within CoE-DSC’s Data Sharing Architects Community! On 8 July, architects from data-sharing initiatives across both the public and private sectors came together for the summer edition at SOIA, Utrecht’s city beach. The aim was clear: to exchange knowledge and experiences, learn from one another, and build on existing solutions rather than continually reinventing the wheel.
Practical architectural choices and interoperability
The programme began with a presentation by Jasper Sustronk (Linksight) on privacy-by-design data sharing. Drawing on the HERACLES project, he explored how technologies such as Multi-Party Computation (MPC) and Federated Learning relate to data spaces and developments including IDS and the European Health Data Space (EHDS).
Yekaterina Travkina (CoE-DSC/INNOPAY) guided participants through the interactive MAMI workshop: Minimum Agreements for Maximum Interoperability. By positioning their own initiatives along a range of interoperability dimensions, participants created a valuable benchmark of the initiatives represented and engaged in an open discussion about similarities, differences and opportunities for growth.
The afternoon concluded with a festival-style walking dinner, offering opportunity for participants to (re)connect and expand their professional networks.
What’s next?
The Data Sharing Architects Community has clearly regained momentum. The strong attendance, lively discussions and positive feedback demonstrate that the community fulfils a genuine need within the Dutch data-sharing ecosystem to share insights, learn from one another and collaborate.
